My Anniversary Getaway At The Kartrite Resort In The Catskills

The perfect getaway for an anniversary, celebration, and family vacation. The NY Catskills is much more than just mountains and lodges that we once knew it to be. With the newly developed resorts in the area, you can now enjoy the beautiful scenic Catskills with loved ones as you partake in the many adventures it now has to offer.
Our trip started with a smooth 2 hour drive from Norwalk, CT to Monticello, NY on a sunny Thursday morning. We rolled up to the Kartrite Resort & Indoor Water park ready to relax and enjoy the many activities we read about while planning our trip. From the looks of the almost filled parking lot, you could tell this place was jammed packed with families ready to enjoy their weekend as well.
We checked in with ease, received our room key wristbands (a great way not to lose your room key), and was accompanied by a hotel attendant; Christian, who helped us to our rooms. He was a very nice and informative bellhop that made our welcome to the Kartrite that much more enjoyable. After off loading our luggage, we enjoyed the cheese platter, wine, and welcome letter that was left for us in the room. What a great personal touch!!
We started our day by enjoying our private cabana in the indoor water park, and had an amazing experience trying out their new drinks that were made by Phil; the indoor park food & beverage manager. We also had a private server that brought us tasty selections from the menu. Inside the private cabanas we had complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, towels, lounge area seating, and a TV-- yes a TV with a remote was in there too. Super cool!
Later that day we enjoyed our time at the Bixby's Tavern bar and munched on the General Tso chicken wings from Harvey’s Wallbanger-- YUM!!. All these eateries are conventionally located on site at the Kartrite Resort, and you also have the option of ordering and delivering the food to your room. They charge everything you order on site to your room, so no need to walk around with your wallet.
After exploring the resort the first night, we crashed in our suite with a balcony view that overlooked the outdoor portion of the resort. We had views of the pool, restaurant, fire pits, outdoor games and more.
The next day we began our morning at the indoor water park rather early, to ensure that we get on all the rides before the kiddies of the resort woke up (great idea btw!). After getting our fix of the water rides, we continued our big kid adventures at the arcade where we played multiple games, experienced the VR activities, and participated in rope climbing. We ended the evening with a much needed couple's massage at the Chill Spa, which is the onsite spa at the Kartrite. The experience was super relaxing and we felt rejuvenated to take on the new week ahead.
Overall this trip was a great getaway for my anniversary, and although there were lots of kids around, we were still able to have alone time on the resort. There are also a lot of things to do nearby, and if you really want to have some adult fun there is a casino a few miles away. Thank you to the Kartrite Resort, and amazing staff for their exceptional service throughout our trip. I truly look forward to coming back when we have our own family to enjoy all the amenities this new resort has to offer.
